African Inspired Contemporary Nursery
As many of you may have heard, Haley King Co. is going to get a new little worker bee soon... well maybe not a worker bee, but definitely a cheerleader. Baby Zanskas is due in just a few weeks and with that, the nursery is all set up!
For the longest time, we had a Hartebeest skin from Dean's travels and hunt in South Africa years ago with no place for it. It was pretty cool and while I wasn't super fond of it hanging in our living room or above our bed, I knew there might be a place for it eventually. It was the whole inspiration for the room, followed by the fact that we have an aquarium filled with African Cichlids. We don't know what we are having (much to Dean's dismay) so I wanted something that was somewhat gender neutral and something that didn't require us to repaint... because... I hate painting.
I'm not one for super baby-ish things, I don't like pastel colors or baby animals so I kept the room a bit more contemporary with geometric patterns and vintage artwork as well as bold photography. More things in this room are made or put together DIY than they are bought and I LOVE that! Check it out and let me know what you think!
